About The Festival
The King John Summer Prom festival was a massive success in 2025. We saw great movie scores with a live Orchestra on the Friday Evening followed by a Saturday matinee with the Movie scores of the Legend James Horner been played by one of Ireland’s leading Orchestras. We then played a live screening of the Braveheart movie with Mel Gibson in the audience as a special guest along with a variety of other cast members and members of the William Wallis society from Scotland. Then on Sunday the festival was closed out with a concert, the Neill Diamond Hot August night show.
The festival returns this year in July 2026 to a new location – the Trim Castle Hotel. This indoor venue is located in the middle of Trim town with easy access to shops, pubs, hotels and public transport. Full information on the event for 2026 is detailed below.

Orchestral Odyssey at King John’s Summer Prom with the Irish School Orchestra
Family Concert
Join us for an exciting family adventure with Orchestral Odyssey, a magical concert experience for children of all ages at the King John Summer Prom Festival in Trim, Co. Meath. This fun and educational performance will introduce young audiences to the world of orchestral music with the help of the Irish School Orchestra, a 35-piece world class ensemble.
Led by the conductor Niall O’Sullivan and singer Shóna O’Sullivan, this interactive concert brings the orchestra to life! They’ll learn about the different instruments in the orchestra and how they work together to create music. Neil Diamond’s Hot August Night the concert

Celebrating the anniversary of the legendary recording “Hot August Night”, PETER BYRNE brings Neil Diamond to you together with a 30-piece symphony Orchestra. It will be 53 years since Neil Diamond stepped on stage at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and recorded what is still known today as one of the greatest epic live albums of all time. Now that album will be re-created in its original format by Dublin born international artist Peter Byrne and the Irish Philharmonic Orchestra.
